Sibsagar MLA and Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi hit out at the Assam Cabinet’s decision to allow home delivery of liquor within Guwahati Municipal Corporation, saying that the government should instead focus on an intensive COVID vaccination drive across the state.

Meghalaya Transport Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar said the Home Minister Amit Shah will probably inaugurate the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) project at Mawiong on July 24.

The National Informatics Centre (NIC) in collaboration with the state Finance Department has developed a Mobile App called 'The Pensioner's Life Certificate Verification' which offers pensioners a secure, easy and hassle-free platform for verifying themselves to the Pension Disbursing Authorities from the comfort of their home using smartphones.

Dibrugarh police started the investigation process against illegal kidney racket being run in the district, after a case was registered at Lahowal police station.

Meghalaya Police recovered a huge cache of explosives materials from the Gabil area in West Garo Hills (WGH) district during a search operation.

To allow its troops to access the disputed areas with India shortly, the Chinese military has been building permanent concrete structures near the Line of Actual Control (LAC), amid the ongoing military standoff with India.
