1. Meghalaya HC constitutes High-Powered Committee over highway widening project

The Division Bench of the Meghalaya High Court has constituted a 5 (five) member High-Powered Committee (HPC) before it makes any observation or pass a final order on the PIL concerning the felling of trees for road widening along the Upper Shillong route.

2. Initiative to rejuvenate Lukha river, Meghalaya Forest minister takes spot inspection

Forest and Environment Minister James Sangma inspected the Lukha river in East Jaintia Hills following reports that the river has low pH level and has affected aquatic life.

3. Meghalaya: Protests held in Ri-Bhoi over opening of wine shop

The local people of several villages in Ri-Bhoi district gathered to protest the newly opened wine shop which it alleged that the owner of the wine store has failed to respect the opposition on the erection of the same by the Dorbar Shnong.

For the efficient management of COVID-19, Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom launched the "NISHTHA Tele-track" platform, a comprehensive tech-enabled home-based isolation care model for monitoring and follow-up of COVID-19 patients in Nagaland.

7. Sikkim: Three soldiers killed and three critically injured in a road mishap

In an accident, three Army jawans lost their lives and three other soldiers have been critically injured as the truck they were travelling in fell into a gorge in East Sikkim.

8. NIA court clears Sibsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi of all charges

In a significant development, a special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court acquitted Sibsagar MLA and Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi, and three others, in a case which was initially registered by Assam Police at Chandmari police station here and later handed over to the NIA.

9. Cabinet approves BharatNet's PPP model to provide internet services across Northeast villages

The Union Cabinet approved the revised implementation strategy of BharatNet through public-private partnership (PPP) mode in 16 states, including the various northeastern states.
