KOHIMA:

For the efficient management of COVID-19, Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom on Wednesday launched the "NISHTHA Tele-track" platform, a comprehensive tech-enabled home-based isolation care model for monitoring and follow-up of COVID-19 patients in Nagaland.

The NISHTHA Tele-track platform developed with support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID) NISHTHA Jhpiego will have access to report mild symptoms and record vitals at home.

The initiative is being rolled out in two highly affected areas of Nagaland, namely Kohima and Dimapur to contain the spread of COVID-19, Phom informed.

Through teleconsultation, the patients will also have access to their physical and mental well being, with a pool of physicians, diet and mental health counsellors attending to them.

Meanwhile, the Minister also highlighted the devastating effect of the pandemic, particularly on the secondary and tertiary sectors of the state, and the need to decentralize care to a home-based level for managing COVID-19.

Various officials and partners also attended the programme.
