Tripura ADC polls: Opposition alleges malpractice by ruling party

Communist Party of India (Marxist) already lodged a complaint to the election commission that the ruling party conducted an undemocratic practice in 86 booths.

The Tripura Autonomous District Council poll witnessed several clashes and untoward incidents on Tuesday. 

According to the election commission of Tripura, the polling percentage was reported at 78.19 per cent till 3pm.

Congress president Pijush Biswas said, they will play a key role to form the next ADC council. 

Communist Party of India (Marxist) already lodged a complaint to the election commission that the ruling party conducted an undemocratic practice in 86 booths. 

The Indigenous Progressive Regional Alliance (TIPRA) Chairman Pradyot Kishore said that they will form the next ADC council.

While the Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Tinku Roy said, this is the first time the ADC election occurred peacefully and the voter turnout was high. 

It may be noted that 157 candidates are contesting in 28 seats in the ADC election.
