1. Meghalaya Govt announces ₹50,000 ex-gratia to families of COVID-19 victims

The Meghalaya government has decided to extend an ex-gratia payment of Rs 50,000 to be provided to the next of kin of COVID deceased and has also decided to enhance the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) for COVID patients.

2. Assam: Oil India Limited supports augmentation of health infrastructure due to surge of COVID-19 

Oil India Limited (OIL) has contributed to the fight against COVID-19 by supporting in augmentation of the health infrastructure because of the surge of the second wave of the pandemic. 

3. Assam: Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited extend assistance to combat COVID-19

Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) being a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) has extended an amount of One Crore Fifty Lakhs from its CSR fund to Assam Medical College and Hospital to uplift the emergency services in the casualty building and improving medical infrastructure including installation of equipment.

4. Assam govt enhances equity stake in NRL

The Assam government has raised its equity stake in Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) to 18.59 percent.

5. Meghalaya: State govt to create Pre-Fab building of Corona Care facilities in Shillong and Tura

The state government has decided to create Pre-Fab building of Corona Care Facilities in Shillong and Tura sanctioned by the Ministry of Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER) at an amount of Rs 6.7 crore.

6. Assam MLA fired at by miscreants along Nagaland border; escapes unhurt

Congress MLA from Mariani constituency, Rupjyoti Kurmi escaped unhurt after unknown miscreants opened fire, from a distance, at a team led by the legislator at the Dissoi Valley Reserve Forest along the Assam-Nagaland border at Mariani in Jorhat district.

7. Assam to adopt zero-tolerance policy against rhino poaching at Kaziranga

The Assam government has decided to implement a zero-tolerance policy against rhino poaching and intensify anti-poaching activities at Kaziranga National Park (KNP). 

8. Assam: 126-bedded Covid Care Centre opens in Dibrugarh 

Sri Marwari Natya Samity opened a 126 bedded Covid Care centre at Jhalukpara in Dibrugarh.
