1. India registers less than 40 thousand COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours

The Union Health Ministry informed that India recorded 39,796 new COVID-19 cases, including 723 deaths in the last 24 on Monday.

2. Assam CM directs police department for quick disposal of crime cases

Officers in charge of police stations in Assam have been directed to deliver ‘quick service’ in regard to filing charge sheets against crimes such as rape, murder, arms and drug smuggling on priority and submit reports regarding the same within six months.

3. Supreme Court says booking people under scrapped 'Section 66A' unlawful

The Supreme Court, on Monday, said that the practice of police registering FIRs under Section 66A of the Information Technology (IT) Act, which the apex court had struck down in the 2015 judgement of Shreya Singhal Case is 'unlawful' and a violation of its judgement.

4. Meghalaya: BSF seizes magnet pieces worth over two lakh from Dawki

The Border Security Force (BSF), Meghalaya Frontier, on Monday, seized over 1190 magnet pieces from Dawki, located along the Indo-Bangladesh border. 

5. Meghalaya CM submits proposal for setting up ESI medical facilities in state

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, on Monday, called on Union Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar and submitted a proposal to set up Employees' State Insurance (ESI) medical facilities in the state.
