Meghalaya: Ri-Bhoi DC issues weather warning advisory, asks people to be cautious

The Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority, Ri Bhoi District, RM Kurbah, has issued an advisory to the public asking them to take precautions during the windy season, accompanied by rain and thunderstorm, to avoid any untoward incident.

The Deputy Commissioner has also advised the public to take shelter immediately during any natural hazard, to properly store and secure loose boards, iron sheets, unused tins during strong winds.

“People must not cross or walk through rivers and streams during heavy rainfall and should be alert to any landslide or sudden flow of water or flash flood and be watchful of children playing outside during such weather,” stated the advisory.
