Most of the northeastern states have extended curfews and imposed various other restrictions including temporary closure of markets, educational institutions, banning mass gatherings, and allowing offices to function with minimal employees.

The Assam Health Department is ready with 2,000 teams to intensify the COVID-19 vaccination drive as soon as the Centre supplies vaccine doses to it.
"The target for each of these teams is 200 vaccine doses per day," Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said.
Assam has recorded 4,63,175 cases and 3,994 deaths so far. The active COVID cases on Monday night stood at 39,362.

Meanwhile, in Sikkim, health officials have said that cases have declined during the past week.

Meghalaya has started reopening shops on rotation. The main wholesale market which was temporarily shut has kept a section of traders in a dire state, as they continue to face difficulties on a regular basis.

In Mizoram, the Deputy Commissioner of Aizawl has regulated the maintenance of stocks in shops for shopkeepers at the Aizawl Municipal Corporation area, on a rotation basis.
