Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal urged citizens to stay alert after a massive earthquake shook the northeastern state of Assam on Wednesday morning.
"Big earthquake hits Assam. I pray for the well-being of all and urge everyone to stay alert. Taking updates from all districts," Sonowal tweeted.
A 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit Assam and other Northeastern states on Wednesday morning.
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the quake occurred at 7:51 am.
The epicentre of the quake was traced 43 km west of Tezpur at a depth of 17 km.
