Major earthquake hits Northeast 

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake jolted the Northeast Region on April 28 around 7:51 am.

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake jolted the Northeast Region on April 28 around 7:51 am.

The epicentre of the earthquake has been traced in Sontipur, Assam.

The latitude of the quake, with its depth of 17 km, is  26.69 and its longitude at 92.36

The quake, which lasted for around 20 seconds, created panic among the citizens. Several properties were also damaged, with one of them being the Vivanta Guwahati.
