The office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) said that the Shillong Times story on the alleged Saubhagya scam in the power department was misleading and not based on facts, as no such report was made public by the CAG.

2. 5.2 magnitude earthquake jolts Assam

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted the Goalpara region of Assam.

3. Mizoram to introduce Hmar language as a medium of instruction at primary school level

Following a High Court order, the Mizoram government has finally decided to implement the 27-year-old Hmar accord and introduce Hmar language at the primary school level from the next academic session in Mizoram. 

4. Meghalaya: 85% of work on new assembly building completed 

Meghalaya Assembly speaker Metbah Lyngdoh informed that 80-85% of the construction of the new assembly building has been completed so far.
