Meghalaya: 85% of work on new assembly building completed

Meghalaya Assembly speaker Metbah Lyngdoh on Tuesday, the 6th of July, informed that 80-85% of the construction of the new assembly building has been completed so far. 

Speaking to media persons, Lyngdoh said a dome structure for the main building is expected to reach the state by month's end and the installation will start will be done in August.

Govt officials from various departments are being consulted for security, electricity, water supply along with beautification of the infrastructure.

The speaker also said that the construction is being done phase-wise, where in the first phase, assembly offices and rooms will be constructed which will be followed by MLA hostels and quarters in the second phase.

Shifting of the office is expected to be done by end of 2022.
