Tripura reported ten more COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
According to an official statement on Thursday, the total COVID tally in the state now stands at 33,503.
Amid the recent rise in the number of cases, Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar issued a new circular and imposed additional restrictions to curb the spread of the virus.
According to the directives, all citizens must wear a face mask in public and maintain social distancing.
The order further stated that violating COVID-19 protocols will attract a fine of Rs 200 for first-time offenders and Rs 400 for repeated violation.
The public has been advised to strictly follow social distancing norms at all places, a violation of these norms will call for a Rs 1,000 fine, the order stated.
The new guidelines will be in place till April 30, it added.
