AGARTALA:

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, on Wednesday, said he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Taking to his official Twitter Handle, Deb also informed that he is taking all necessary precautions.

"I have been tested positive for Covid-19. I have isolated myself at home as per the advice of doctors. I request everyone to please follow all the covid appropriate behaviour and stay safe," he tweeted.

Meanwhile, according to several media houses, the CM was not wearing a mask at his election rallies and violated COVID-19 protocols.

We may note that Deb had tested positive for COVID-19 last year as well.

The state Health Department, on Tuesday, reported 14 fresh COVID-19 cases in 24 hours which took the state’s tally to 33,554.

Tripura takes the second spot in the northeast in terms of the number of COVID positive cases and the first in terms of mortality rate.
