Four NLFT cadres held in Tripura
They are identified as Sanjoy Tripura (30) of Khagendra Roaja Para, Akhindra Debbarma (31) of Kata Lutma under Salema of Dhalai district, Bailya Jamatia (28) of Paradise Chowmuhani of Dhalai district and Rabi Kumar Tripura (45) of Chailyatoli under Rangamati district of Bangladesh, the police said.

The special branch of Tripura Police detained two cadres of the proscribed National Liberation Front of Tripura – Biswa Mohan (NLFT-BM) and two associates from the Gandacherra sub-division under Dhalai district, on November 19.
Speaking to The Northeast Today (TNT), a senior police officer said that acting on a reliable input shared by the special branch, Gandacherra police detained two hardcover NLFT (Biswa Mohan) militants from a vehicle near Dangabari police station under the Gandacherra sub-division.
They are identified as Sanjoy Tripura (30) of Khagendra Roaja Para and Akhindra Debbarma (31) of Kata Lutma under Salema of Dhalai district.
The official said that two smartphones and cash Rs15,000 were seized from their possession.
“They were collecting extortion money in the name of NLFT(BM) from different areas of Dhalai district including Salema, Kachucherra, Kamalpur, Gandacherra and Raishyabari since July 2021. They are being interrogated in Gandacherra police station,” the police officials said.
The official also added that taking the lead from the statements of two arrested NLFT cadres, two more associates were arrested from Raishyabari. They are identified as Bailya Jamatia (28) of Paradise Chowmuhani of Dhalai district and Rabi Kumar Tripura (45) of Chailyatoli under Rangamati district of Bangladesh.
On November 20, all the four cadres will be to Court tomorrow.
