West Sikkim DC appeals for intensified COVID vaccination drive

Speaking about the current surge, Bonpo urged all offices, schools and colleges to follow the new guidelines laid by the government.

GANGTOK:

The District Task Force of West Sikkim held a meeting on Friday to review the status of the COVID-19 vaccination drive in the area.


The meeting was chaired by West Sikkim District Collector Karma R Bonpo, alongside other officials from the Health Department.


During the meeting, the DC enquired about the current report on the vaccination drive and suggested that the target should be at least twenty-thousand according to the population at 1,500 per day.


He further directed the health officials to give every Public Health Centre (PHCs) a weekly target for the vaccination drive.


Speaking about the current surge, Bonpo urged all offices, schools and colleges to follow the new guidelines laid by the government.


He further said that the district hospitals and PHCs will conduct the vaccination drive six days a week, excluding Sunday.
