Surge in Covid cases: Sikkim govt orders closure of educational institutions
 

According to reports, 14 fresh cases of COVID-19 was reported from Tashi Namgyal Academy on Tuesday among the students and teaching staff.

GANGTOK:

The Sikkim Government has decided to temporarily close all the educational institutions, including government, government-aided, and private schools from April 12 till April 20.

According to reports, 14 fresh cases of COVID-19 was reported from Tashi Namgyal Academy on Tuesday among the students and teaching staff. 

Following the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases, the Health Department has urged all the employees working in the educational sector to get themselves vaccinated.

Earlier, the Human Resource Development Department released a public notification on April 11 and instructed all activities related to the CBSE examinations during this period shall be taken up after April 20.

The notification further stated that the classes and exam related activities during the closure will continue in online mode.
