Sikkim urban body election: Brisk voting witnessed in 4 districts
 

For the first time in Sikkim, urban local body polls were held in a non-partisan manner. Many independent candidates were in the fray with tough competition in all wards apart from few uncontested seats.

GANGTOK:

Brisk voting was witnessed in all four districts of Sikkim for the local urban body polls that were held on Wednesday.

The voting percentage which was recorded till 5 pm stands at:

Geyzing Nagar Panchayat 72 per cent, Rangpo Nagar Panchayat 75.42 per cent, 
Mangan Nagar Panchayat 79.14 per cent, Singtam Nagar Panchayat-71.11 per cent and Gangtok Municipal Corporation 58.22 per cent.
