Sikkim govt starts registration process for labourers
The move comes after the passing of the Sikkim Labour (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Services) Bill, 2021, during the recently concluded Budget Session of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly.
GANGTOK:
The Sikkim Government has started the process of registration of individual labourers/workers as well as those working in organised and unorganised sectors in the state.
The move comes after the passing of the Sikkim Labour (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Services) Bill, 2021, during the recently concluded Budget Session of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly.
The Labour Department will expedite the process of registration throughout the state for which a task force has been constituted in each municipality ward and each panchayat ward under the Sikkim Labour Protection Act, 2005.
