Sikkim govt issues notification for further relaxations in the state

As per the new order issued here, government offices will now function with 100 per cent attendance for employees who have taken both doses of the COVID vaccine.

GANGTOK:

The Sikkim Government, on Sunday, issued a new set of guidelines to allow relaxations for the resumption of economic activities in the state.

As per the new order issued here, government offices will now function with 100 per cent attendance for employees who have taken both doses of the COVID vaccine.

In addition to that, all factories, production units and commercial establishments can now use 100 manpower with those workers/employees who have completed both doses of COVID vaccine.

The government has also allowed the opening of the tourism industry in the state. Tourists and travellers who have taken both doses of the COVID vaccine will no longer require RTPCR negative report, as required earlier.

The order has also given relief to the hotel and hospitality sector in the state by allowing hotels, guest houses and homestays to operate with 50% capacity.

Furthermore, malls and showrooms can now operate with all COVID norms in place.

The notification has also lifted the ban on pillion riders on two-wheelers. 

For employees and workers (both government & private) who have not completed both vaccine doses, the order stated that the offices can continue to function with 50 per cent arrangement.
