Sikkim govt extends lockdown in the state till June 21 

The decision to extend the lockdown came after the COVID review meeting wherein it was decided that the lockdown must continue given the current situation.

GANGTOK:

The Sikkim Government on Sunday extended the ongoing lockdown in the state till June 21, with certain relaxations put in place.

The decision to extend the lockdown came after the COVID review meeting, wherein it was decided that the lockdown must continue given the current situation.

However, the government has relaxed certain commercial activities taking into consideration the livelihood of the public.

Accordingly, stand-alone shops, essential commodities shops and other private commercial establishments have been allowed to open till 5 pm.

Besides, the movement of taxis and cabs have been allowed in certain districts with an odd-even rule.
