Rijiju gets Law ministry, Sonowal appointed Ports & Shipping minister; read full list

Along with the five members, 39 others has also been sworn in as cabinet ministers.

NEW DELHI:

The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed the allocation of portfolios among the new members of the Council of Ministers, including five representatives from the Northeast who have taken oath as ministers on Wednesday evening. 

Former Union Minister from Assam Sarbananda Sonowal has been appointed as Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Minister of Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa and Homoeopathy (AYUSH).

Former Union Sports Minister Shri Kiren Rijiju from Arunachal Pradesh is the new Minister of Law and Justice.

Meanwhile, Rameswar Teli from Assam will retain his office as Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

New faces inducted in the new cabinet include Sushri Pratima Bhoumik from Tripura who has been appointed as Minister of State in the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh from Manipur as Minister of State in the Ministry of External Affairs and Minister of State in the Ministry of Education.

Along with the five members, 39 others has also been sworn in as cabinet ministers.
