Vaccination drive for 15-18 age group begins in Nagaland

Informing that the response to the vaccination drive held in Dimapur was overwhelming, chief medical officer, Dr I Moa Temjen, encouraged the citizens to get themselves vaccinated against Covid-19, asserting that mortality cases were mostly reported from those not vaccinated.

KOHIMA:

Nagaland minister for health and family welfare, S Pangyu Phom, launched the Covid-19 vaccination drive for teenagers aged between 15 and 18 years at Dimapur district hospital on January 3.

Informing that Nagaland has received 1,43,000 vaccine doses from the Centre, Phom said the vaccines will be distributed to all the districts of the state. He appealed to the eligible registered beneficiaries to come forward and take the shots.

Phom congratulated the health workers and frontline workers of Dimapur for achieving more than the targeted figure of vaccination (120% 1st dose and 96% 2nd dose). He appreciated the medical teams on duty for the successful vaccination drive.

The Minister also gave away certificates to the first four beneficiaries who received their doses right after the formal launch of the vaccination programme.
