Nagaland ready for Covid vaccination of 15-18 age group from January 3

Nagaland is ready to inoculate teenagers aged between 15 and 18 against Covid-19 from January 3.

Speaking to The Northeast Today on December 29, state nodal officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP), Dr Nyanthung Kikon, said that Nagaland health and family welfare department is prepared with manpower, infrastructure and surveillance units for Covid vaccination of the above mentioned age groups which accounts for around three per cent of the state's population. 

Kikon said necessary instructions have been issued to the districts for the purpose. He said the state has already received the vaccine shots.

“We are doing as much as we can for vaccination of this age group,” Kikon said.

He also said the IDSP was in a high mode of surveillance for any international passengers coming to the state.
