Nagaland govt eases lockdown relaxations under 'Unlock 1'

The Nagaland government on Monday announced more relaxations on economic activities across the state for the period between July 1 to July 10.

A High Powered Committee (HPC) on COVID-19 has decided to go for “Unlock 1” as the way forward to ease up COVID imposed restrictions, informed Nagaland government spokesperson Mmhonlumo Kikon.

As per the new order issued here on Monday, government offices are allowed to function with 50% attendance, and curfew will be imposed from 7 pm to 4 am daily.

Furthermore, shops and commercial establishments have been allowed to open on a rotational basis. There are new SOPs for religious places and the conduct of weddings as well.

Pointing to the state's gradual process of returning to normalcy, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said, "While we need to remain cautious, we also need to focus on the economy and ensure successful functioning of all aspects of the state govt and private sectors."
