Nagaland Government orders closure of schools from classes 1 to 8

Regular classes for students of Class 9 (nine) to Class 12 (twelve) will continue subject to strict adherence to all the SOPs.

KOHIMA:

The Nagaland Government on April 19 has decided to close all schools from class 1 to 8 because of the steep rise in COVID-19 cases in the country.

In a notification issued on Monday, all the schools in the State, including the residential schools, for students of Class 1 (one) to Class 8 (eight), will be closed with immediate effect till further orders.

The kindergarten/pre-primary Classes in all the Schools in the State shall also remain closed.

Schools may continue imparting teaching through online mode for all the Classes, and carrying out other activities with strict adherence to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and other necessary measures, stated the order.

Regular classes for students of Class 9 (nine) to Class 12 (twelve) will continue subject to strict adherence to all the SOPs.

The ongoing HSLC and HSSLC Examinations, 2021, will continue with strict observance of all the SOP for preventing the spread of COVID-19 issued vide order of even number dated March 12, 2021.
