KOHIMA:

The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has appealed to all 60 legislators of the State Assembly to resign and flag the way for urgent implementation of Naga political solution to the long-running Naga insurgency.

"Their resignation will only demonstrate their sincerity towards implementation of political solution," the NPCC said in a release.

At a committee meeting held on July 16th, 2021 at Congress Bhavan, Kohima, a three-point resolution on the current political situation in the state and emerging disturbances at the Assam-Nagaland border was passed in the interest of the people.

The NPCC also cautioned Assam Government against passing the Assam Cattle Preservation Bill, 2021.

They said, "It is bound to create more trouble for neighbouring hill states and destroy the age-old ties that have withstood the test of time".

Speaking about the Assam-Nagaland border issue, it said that the Assam government must withdraw its armed police personnel from newly occupied positions.
