Burmese goods worth Rs 29 lakh seized in Dimapur

DIMAPUR:

In a joint operation with Nagaland police, security forces apprehended two persons with counterfeit Burmese goods at Pherima in Dimapur district on November 9, a defence release said on November 11.

Based on a specific input, security forces, along with Nagaland police, apprehended the duo and recovered Burmese goods worth around Rs 29.84 lakh in the area.

The two, along with the recovered items, were handed over to the Customs Department in Dimapur.

In another incident, security forces, in a joint operation with the state police, apprehended a cadre of National Socialist Council of Nagaland – Khaplang (NSCN-K) (YA) at Tizit in Mon district on November 8, another defence release said on Thursday.

Based on a specific input, security forces, along with the state police, apprehended the cadre who was allegedly involved in multiple extortion activities at Tizit. He was later handed over to Mon police.
