Union Minister Kapil Moreshwar visits Ri Bhoi; expresses satisfaction over implementation of Panchayati Raj Schemes

Expressing satisfaction over the implementation of Panchayati Raj Schemes in Meghalaya, Union Minister Kapil Moreshwar Patil on Thursday said that the schemes have been utilised in their entirety.

Patil visited villages in Mawlein Mawkhan under Umsning, and Lum Umpih villages in Ri Bhoi District, and took stock of the development work under progress under the schemes, including implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).

Patil also visited MGNREGA project sites and visited houses made under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAYG).

Earlier on Wednesday, Patil had reviewed flagship programmes of the central government in Meghalaya such as MAY-G, NRLM, RGSA, and others.

Patil is on a two-day visit to the state to assess the various central schemes under the Ministry of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
