NIT Meghalaya recognised as best institute in Northeast India for 2021

The award was presented to the Institute during a virtual ceremony of the 15th Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Purushkar held in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The Centre for Education Growth and Research (CEGR), the leading education think tank in India, has honoured the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Meghalaya with the “Best Institute in Northeast India” award for the year 2021.

The award was presented to the Institute during a virtual ceremony of the 15th Rashtriya Shiksha Gaurav Purushkar held in New Delhi on Tuesday.

Along with the best institute award, CEGR also honoured the Director of NIT Meghalaya, Prof. B.B. Biswal the “Visionary Leader of the year” award for his vast contribution to academics.

Subsequently, after the award, NIT issued a statement highlighting the course curriculum at the institute which is designed to make students industry-ready, for which the national institute was recognised for the award.

NIT Meghalaya, in the statement, also credited the Director, Prof. B.B Biswal for this recognition.

“Biswal’s dynamic leadership, positive attitude, and ambition to build the institute as a centre of excellence in education and research, helped the institute earn the commendable title,” read a statement released by NIT.
