Meghalaya: Screening test for Non-Communicable Diseases held in Nongstoin

A short awareness programme was also organised about the increase of cancer patients in the State
NONGSTOIN:

A screening test for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) namely Diabetes, Hypertension, Blood Pressure and Cancer was conducted on April 12 at Civil Hospital, Nongstoin.

The aim of the programme was to get into the core issue of a patient’s history in the nick of time so that lives can be saved.

A short awareness programme was also organised about the increase of cancer patients in the State, its causes, sign and symptoms and preventive measures which was delivered by Dr. C. Sutnga, Medical and Cancer Specialist and Dr. C. Sayoo, Head and Neck Cancer Specialist, Woodland Hospital, Shillong.

The programme which was organised by the District Medical & Health Officer in collaboration with Woodland Hospital Shillong witnessed the presence of Dr. W. Sutnga, District Nodal Officer, and National Programme for Control Diabetes Cancer and Stroke (NPCDCS) Nongstoin, Dr. J. Kharkongor, Medical Superintendent Civil Hospital among others.
