Meghalaya reports highest single-day COVID deaths, 21 succumb to virus

At least 215 people have recovered from the disease and, the death toll stands at 301.

SHILLONG:

The northeastern state of Meghalaya, on Saturday, recorded 21 new COVID-19 deaths, the highest count in a single day in the state since the pandemic began.

The number of new cases recorded on May 15 is 560, taking the total positive tally to 22,763 with 4338 active cases.

At least 215 people have recovered from the disease and, the death toll stands at 301. 

On Friday, the state recorded 627 new cases, the highest single-day spike in Meghalaya.
