Meghalaya receives two advanced support ambulances from NHIDCL

The National Highway and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) on Tuesday handed over two state-of-the-art Advanced Support Ambulances to the government of Meghalaya.

NHIDCL's representative Narendra Sheoran handed over the keys to the Minister of Health and Family Welfare AL Hek.

The Corporation gifted the two TATA Winger-ambulances to the government of Meghalaya as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

In addition to being the latest model, the ambulances are fully air-conditioned and are equipped with an automatic stretcher, portable and fitted oxygen device, thermometer, stethoscope, oximeter, BP monitor and a host of other features.

The vehicles are also equipped with rescue items such as fire extinguishers, PA system and PPE kits.

The ambulances shall be deployed by the state government on the highways and shall go a long way in providing immediate first aid to accident victims and rescue persons in distress during natural calamities, the NHIDCL stated. 

The NHIDCL is also in the process to purchase ten more basic ambulances for Meghalaya.
