Meghalaya: Indian Chamber of Commerce, Oil India Limited organise webinar on COVID-19

SHILLONG:

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), in Collaboration with Oil India Ltd (OIL), organised a webinar centring on the healthcare sector on Wednesday.
The webinar, organised under the theme ‘Amid and Post COVID-19: Leading through the Changing World of Healthcare Sector’, aimed to hold strategic discussions on the way forward for the Healthcare Sector amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The CEO of Swagat Hospital, Guwahati and Chairman of the Health Committee of the Indian Chamber of Commerce-NE, Dr Subhash Khanna, delivered the welcome address and lauded the continuous efforts of healthcare workers.
He also emphasised the need for a vaccination drive and the inclusion of more vaccine suppliers.
Meanwhile, consultant microbiologist of the National Health Service, England, Dr Jayanta Biswa Sarma, stated that COVID-19 is primarily an indoor phenomenon and hence can be controlled by adequate vaccination and hygiene maintenance.
Sarma also requested private hospitals to work as a team in providing necessary treatment to patients.
Others who spoke during the webinar included Dr Rajni Kant, scientist and head of the Research Management, Policy, Planning and Coordination Cell, ICMR.
