Meghalaya: HM Shangpliang urges Chief Minister to upgrade Mawsynram block
Speaking to media persons, Shangpliang said that he has submitted a letter to the CM urging him to upgrade the block.

SHILLONG:
MLA of Mawsynram, Himalaya M Shangpliang, met Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday, and discussed the upgradation of the Mawsynram Block to a Civil Sub-Division.
Speaking to media persons, Shangpliang said that he has submitted a letter to the CM urging him to upgrade the block.
“We discussed and studied the map of East Khasi Hills together, and the CM observed that the Mawsynram Block deserved to be upgraded to a Sub-Division,” Shangpliang said.
Shangpliang apprised the CM that the people residing along the border come all the way to Shillong to get things done, and urged him (chief minister) to examine the case for the convenience of the public.
It may be mentioned that the Mawsynram Block was established in 1962.
