Meghalaya: FKJGP shuts down offices for opening on state holiday

The Federation of Khasi-Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) Nongthymmai circle closed down the offices of Bajaj Finserv at Upland Road and SBI Life Insurance at Laitumkhrah market for opening their offices on the occasion of Shad Suk Mynsiem which was declared a holiday.

It may be mentioned that in a press release on March 31, Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, General Administration (A) Department informed that all State Government offices, all Revenue and Magisterial Courts and educational institutions in East Khasi Hills district shall remain closed as local holiday on April 12, 2021 on account of Shad Suk Mynsiem.

Shad Suk Mynsiem which means dance of the peaceful hearts is observed annually with pomp and gaiety by the Khasi community.
