SHILLONG:

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has called upon the residents of the state to invoke divine intervention on Sunday (May 30) for a special prayer meeting.

Speaking to media persons after a review meeting on Friday, he said, “At 11:55 am, ringing of bells in their respective worshipping places can be allowed. It is allowed for five minutes. Exactly, at 12 noon, a prayer meeting will start.”

Tynsong has requested members of all faiths and denominations to come forward for the special prayer.

The state will hold a special prayer on Sunday to pray for the COVID patients, for the departed souls, and all the residents of Meghalaya, he said.

It may be mentioned that last year in April, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma initiated “Meghalaya Prays” to pray for healing at a time when the world was starting to come to terms with dealing with the plague.
