Meghalaya: Ri Bhoi residents asked to remain under family containment until everyone is vaccinated

NONGPOH: 

The District Magistrate of Ri Bhoi district of Meghalaya has directed people to remain under family containment until everyone is vaccinated. 

The decision was taken following the sharp rise of COVID-19 positive cases in the district. 

Additional micro containment areas have been declared in Ri Bhoi to contain the spread of the deadly virus. 

"All citizens should strictly follow all the necessary protocols, advisories and orders issued by the government to contain the spread of Covid-19 virus," read an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner on Saturday. 

Furthermore, people have been asked to avoid socialising at home with family members who are exposed to the virus. 

"The awareness cum vaccination drive is an ongoing effort in the District to control the grim situation," the order read.
