Meghalaya: Condolences pour in for Taekwondo Grand Master Luthre Lohar

Luthre was a well-known figure and highly respected among the sports fraternity of the state.

The Meghalaya Taekwondo Association and the entire Taekwondo fraternity have expressed deep condolences over the demise of its founder Grand Master Luthre Lohar.

"The Taekwondo Fraternity and the State have lost a Master, a teacher, an exponent and practitioner of Taekwondo of a very high order," the association said while highlighting the immense contributions of the master in uplifting Taekwondo not just Meghalaya but across India.

Luthre was a well-known figure and highly respected among the sports fraternity of the state.

Meghalaya Chief Minister took to Twitter and expressed condolences to the master, "Meghalaya loses a legend with the passing of Grandmaster Luthre Lohar, 1st Indian Black Belt in #Taekwondo who introduced Taekwondo in India & Meghalaya & founder of the Meghalaya Taekwondo Association. My condolences to his family, friends & well-wishers."

Similarly, Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and several others expressed grief over the loss of the legendary figure in the world of Taekwondo.
