SHILLONG:

Esron Marwein, the Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) candidate for Mawryngkneng constituency, said that good governance requires right policies from the ruling dispensation.

"A right policy is the answer to address all the problems of the people," Marwein said speaking to the press after filing his nomination papers on Friday. He added that the reason behind him joining KHNAM is because the party has a strong foundation.

Marwein, who is an ardent follower of veteran politician, Late HS Shylla, recalled his principles saying, people need to be knowledgeable, skillful, and daring.

He said that unemployment, farmers’ plight, and the health sector are the areas that need attention in the Mawryngkneng constituency and more so, because of the pandemic.

On the other hand, Arbiangkam Kharsohmat, who worked as a nurse in Mawryngkneng PHC earlier, has also filed his nomination to contest the Mawryngkneng bye-polls independently.
