TURA:

Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Bernard Marak on April 13 contended that some of the BJP leadership was leaving the party because of their own poor performance and anti-party activities.

The statement comes after senior leader from Garo Hills, KC Boro decided to quit the party, which Bernard alleged was due to acting against a candidate set up by the party in the just concluded Garo Hills Autonomous District Council elections.

“We are not weakened because of the exit of people who are non-performers. Replacing the void with new and dynamic leaders is under process. We want to replace some leaders in the leadership because of anti-party activities and poor performance in the GHADC election in Garo Hills,” said the BJP spokesperson.

Bernard asserted that the party had been betrayed by its own leaders, something that will force the party leadership to take strong action against those who have betrayed the party high command.

“Some leaders are resigning before action can be taken against their poor performance in their district. We will replace most of the leaders who have worked closely with other political parties and have weakened the backbone of the party,” he said.
