Lafarge provides high-flow oxygen equipment to Meghalaya

Lafarge Umiam Mining Private Limited (LUMPL) has donated two numbers of High-Flow Oxygen Equipment to the Government of Meghalaya to fight the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the state. 

The donation was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative towards the promotion of health and safety and as part of its COVID-19 relief aid. 

"LUMPL is happy to associate with the State Government in its ongoing cause of tackling the pandemic caused by the outbreak of the second wave of COVID -19," read a release issued by Lafarge on Friday. 

The medical equipment were handed over to the Meghalaya Chief Secretary by LUMPL Operations Director Narayan Sharma, who reiterated that the Company "continuously works towards the promotion of health and well-being of its communities, employees, stakeholders and to come forward to contribute to strengthening the efforts of government in combating this virus."

"In terms of its community engagement under its regular CSR initiative for Health, LUMPL is working very closely with the Nongtrai Village Durbar and the Shella Village Durbar to provide support to these two communities to help them prepare and combat the virus by ensuring PPEs, N95 masks, hand sanitisers for the frontline health workers, medicines and vitamins are provided to the two villages," the release further stated.
