Lafarge donates COVID relief materials to health centres in Meghalaya's Sohra

Sub-Divisional Officer of Sohra, Alexander S Mukhim, received the COVID relief materials and thanked LUMPL for their support towards the setting up of the Corona Care Center in the area.

Lafarge Umiam Mining Private Limited (LUMPL) on June 4 donated 100 PPE kits, 350 N95 masks, 200 gloves and 2 disinfectant sprayers to the Community Corona-care Centre (CCC) in Sohra, to assist the sub-divisional administration team combat the steep rise in the number of COVID- 19 positive cases in the region.

Sub-Divisional Officer of Sohra, Alexander S Mukhim, received the COVID relief materials and thanked LUMPL for their support towards the setting up of the CCC in the area.

Mukhim said that the relief medical supplies donated by LUMPL would go a long way in ensuring the health and safety of the health workers, doctors and nurses who will be manning the CCC in the region.

It may be mentioned that in continuation with its support towards health care in Meghalaya, the company had earlier donated four oxygen cylinders to Shella PHC and two oxygen cylinders to the Nongtrai Dispensary.

The company's initiative will ensure that two villages are equipped to handle the COVID-19 crisis in the respective areas.
