Meghalaya: KSU expresses concern over list to transfer teachers in WKH

The Sub Divisional School Education Officer Nongstoin clarified that the list that was circulated to the teachers is yet to be completed by the State Government.

The Khasi Students Union (KSU) Mawshynrut Circle expressed concern over the circulation of the list to transfer teachers from the Government Lower Primary School under West Khasi Hills District.

Speaking to media persons, Ulysis Ryntong general secretary KSU Mawshynrut Circle, said that the list was circulated to all the teachers in the government LP School.

“In Mawshynrut besides the list of teachers to be transferred there is also a list of proposed relocating of the government LP School, ” he added.

He also said that there are few schools in Mawshynrut Area that have been closed leaving the school children of the area at a significant loss.

In this regard, the KSU on Friday met the Sub Divisional School Education Officer Nongstoin to seek clarification.

The Sub Divisional School Education Officer Nongstoin clarified that the list that was circulated to the teachers is yet to be completed by the State Government.

She also informed the Union that the department has instructed the school authority that all the teachers and students are to attend classes as usual.

Therefore, the Union urged the State Government to cancel the proposed transfer of teachers and to stop relocating the government schools for the benefit of the school children.
