Former JHADC Chairman Obil Kyndait no more

The veteran politician had also served as an MLA from then Rymbai Constituency (now Khliehriat) in 1978. He also served as an MDC for six terms.

Former Chairman of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) Obil Kyndait breathed his last on Friday morning at his residence in Mihmyntdu, West Jaintia Hills district. 


The veteran politician had also served as an MLA from then Rymbai Constituency (now Khliehriat) in 1978. He also served as an MDC for six terms. 


He assumed the post of Chairman of the JHADC in 2014 before retiring from politics. 


His cremation will be held on Saturday at Mukhaialong in East Jaintia Hills.

Speaking to The Northeast Today (TNT), his relative, H. Phawa, informed that Kyndait was suffering from diabetes. He was 63 years old, and leaves behind 9 children and 3 grandchildren.
