CM Conrad Sangma inaugurates projects for schools in Mendipathar

Under the project, five new classrooms have been added to Manikanj Secondary School, whereas seven classrooms of Damas Secondary School have been retrofitted, in addition to the construction of six new classrooms.

MENDIPATHAR

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, on November 17, inaugurated new projects to upgrade the existing infrastructure of Manikanj Secondary School and Damas Higher Secondary School during a function held at Mendipathar, North Garo Hills.

Under the project, five new classrooms have been added to Manikanj Secondary School, whereas seven classrooms of Damas Secondary School have been retrofitted, in addition to the construction of six new classrooms.

The infrastructure upgrade for both the schools also includes a computer room and digital classrooms for advanced learning of students.

The Chief Minister also distributed cheques amounting to more than 23 lakhs to 32 farmer producer groups of North Garo Hills comprising more than 450 members under the Government's Farmers' Collectivisation for Upscaling of Production and Marketing Systems (FOCUS) at Mendipathar.

Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui, Deputy Speaker Timothy D. Shira, MLA Kharkutta Constituency Rupert Momin, and MLA Bajengdoba Constituency Pongseng Marak, were among the dignitaries present during the inauguration of the two schools funded by the Asian Development Bank under the Supporting Human Development Project.
