Cabinet Minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare unveils foundation stone for Mawrong Higher Secondary School in Ri Bhoi

The Higher Secondary Level school has been sanctioned under the centrally sponsored Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) scheme with an amount of Rs 2 crore.

In a historic moment for the local residents of 16 villages under Mawrong areas in Ri Bhoi District, the long-awaited dream to get one Higher Secondary School has seen the light of the day, after the Minister-in-charge PWD (Building) and Transport Department, Dasakhiatbha Lamare on Tuesday unveiled the foundation stone for Mawrong Higher Secondary School.

The Higher Secondary Level school has been sanctioned under the centrally sponsored Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) scheme with an amount of Rs 2 crore.

The unveiling of the foundation stone was also attended by Jirang Legislator Sosthenes Sohtun, Joint Director of School Education and Literacy V.S Nongbet, Mawrong Government LP school Headmaster Lowis Moksha and others.

Addressing the gathering, Lamare said that the Central government has given top priority to education, and it is with this aim that the school has been set up. "The villagers must therefore encourage their children to attend school," Lamare said.

The minister also lauded and appreciated the effort of the education department for taking up the task of constructing the school in the remote corner. He hoped that the school will serve the purpose of providing quality education to the students of the area.
