Two arrested by Delhi Police for stealing and selling luxury cars in Manipur

The Delhi police, with the help of the local police in Manipur, recovered luxury cars, such as Fortuner, Creta, Scorpio, and Brezza.

IMPHAL:

An inter-state gang of auto-lifters consisting mainly of a PhD scholar and a former Delhi University student have been arrested by Delhi police. 


Reportedly, police have seized 12 stolen luxury cars from Manipur’s Imphal and Thoubal areas.


The two accused have been identified as Tadrish Syeed and Abung Mehtab. The former, hailing from Manipur, has graduated from Delhi University’s Hindu College and completed his masters from Aligarh Muslim University. 


While the latter is UGC NET qualified with a PhD in Sociology from Manipur University. 


The police, following up with the information provided by the East Delhi Police with regards to the activeness of the gang in Delhi-NCR, arrested the accused. 


The accused revealed that the duo and their companions from Manipur, after flying to Delhi would rob luxury cars and expensive motorcycles. Later, they drove the stolen cars to Imphal. They had reportedly stolen about 300 vehicles.
