Tribal Affairs Ministry bestows five Van Dhan National awards to Manipur

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, has conferred five national awards to Manipur for the successful implementation of Pradhan Mantri Van Dhan Yojana, including “The Most Pro-Active State” and “Best Digital Friendly State” honours.

The five awards are  - The Most Proactive State, Best Digital Friendly State, Best Sales Generated (2nd place), Best Training (2nd place), the Most number of Van Dhan Vikas Kendra Established (2nd place).

The awards were presented by Union Tribal Affairs Minister, Arjun Munda through a webinar during the Tribal Co-operative Marketing Federation of India (TRIFED), a national level cooperative body under the administrative control of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs 34th foundation day celebrations.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh took to Twitter and thanked the Tribal Affairs Ministry for considering the state for the awards, and informed that since 2019-20 the state has done a lot of work under the Van Dhan Yojana.



Under the Yojana, 39 Van Dhan Vikas Kendra(VDVKs) have been established, 3320 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) formed, and 41908 tribal entrepreneurs have been benefitted in 14 Forest Division of Manipur, informed CM N Biren Singh.
