Manipur: Trial run between Silchar and Vaingaichunpao successfully conducted
The first trial run of a passenger train from Silchar to Vaingaichunpao in Tamenglong, Manipur, was successfully conducted on July 2.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweeted, "Historic moment for Manipur as the first trial run of a passenger train from Silchar to Vaingaichunpao in Tamenglong was successfully conducted on Friday. The people of Manipur are immensely grateful to PM @narendramodi Ji for the transformation brought under his leadership."
Recently, Union minister Jitendra Singh, in a seminar titled "The Land of Emerging Opportunities, focus area Manipur", organised by the ASSOCHAM and the Manipur government, said Northeast India will lead the country's post-Covid growth story.
The element of focus for the DoNER ministry would be to unlock the potentiality of human resources and in particular, the hard-hit tourism industry which caters to the bulk of the revenue in the Northeastern states.
